MadyGabby picCall me a proud mamma, but it’s warranted this time.  When my daughter, Mady, and her best friend, Gabby decided to throw a combo-birthday party last year (they were turning 8), I knew it was warranted.  Not because they were having a party, but because they both decided to give up their birthday gifts and instead accept donations in order to grant the wish of a child with a life threatening illness, via The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

So up went the homemade website.  Out they went to local businesses.  And most importantly, out came the dollars and pennies (literally) from classmate piggy banks.  Those pennies certainly added up… to the tune of the $5,000.00 it took to become official “Wish Makers” for the Gulf Coast Chapter of Make-A-Wish.  To see the story, click here.  The wish was granted, but the mission continues.  Mady and Gabby are now launching their mission to grant one wish after another, and to empower children everywhere to make that same kind of difference in some way, shape, or form.  It’s all about never underestimating the impact you can have on others.  That’s what we teach at Rock Star U.  To donate to the Wish in progress, click here.  Receipts for tax purposes are issued directly from Make-A-Wish as long as you provide your mailing address.  If you cannot donate, spread the good word or throw a rock star party for the charity of your choice and tell us about it.  If you do not want to set up the website on your own, simply email us (info@rockstarsrock.com) to learn how to accept donations via Mady and Gabby’s GiveLikeARockStar site.  Be creative, make the choice, and make the difference.

Told you it was warranted.  Here’s a video of how it all started…  PS- They are new to Twitter and Facebook (YES, we supervise like crazy)- friend them up!
