We don’t know a whole ‘lotta grandmas who have flown in Black Hawk Helicopters over the most dangerous parts of Iraq. None who have flown via bungee with Cirque de Soliel.  Nor a grandma who has a Grammy Award winning son-in-law (Song of the Year, for Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now).  Oh, WAIT…. we do know one. One who has done all that and more (wait ‘til you hear the story!). Meet our most loving and giving friend, Gail Lynne Goodwin.

Now before we continue, here’s the disclaimer: Yes, she’s technically a grandma, but she looks like she’s 29.  But there’s no 29 year old that we know who could have inspired as many as Gail has in her lifetime.  Just over two years ago, Gail founded InspireMeToday.com, which gives members free daily inspiration… the best of it!  In that short amount of time, she has amassed a worldwide following of people who are inspired and empowered to fulfill their dreams every day.  She has featured more than 500 Luminaries, including Sir Richard Branson, Jack Canfield, Les Brown, Janet and Chris Attwood, Michael Gerber, and the list goes on and on.

But here’s the real reason we love Gail and InspireMeToday.com so much.  It’s about all the things that happened leading up to its beginnings. It’s about how Gail and her daughter, Carly, ended up touring military bases across the country, and then in Iraq, all in the name of spreading love and support for the soldiers and their families.  It’s about what happened when a special soldier named Jesse asked her for a “Mom Hug,” and Gail chose to give him that hug even though he had not showered in weeks and was literally living in a ditch. It’s about the mission that formed out of that hug to make a difference in the lives of so many others.  And simply, it’s about Gail’s understanding and total purposeful action in what we teach at Rock Star U everyday:  That is, she has never underestimated the impact she can have on others.  Every day, and with every breath, this woman seeks to serve others.  And she does it in a big way.  A rock star kind of way.
